Autumn and sleeves belong together.
But forget the idea that a sleeve exists simply because somebody might get chilly outside the church.
A great bridal sleeve is part of the dress.
We’re looking at sheer lace, exaggerated cuffs, soft billowing shapes and beautifully structured long sleeves that make the entire silhouette feel intentional.
If the dress itself is relatively simple, this is also where you can add the drama.
The Blossom Verdict: Let the sleeve do some work.
The Modern Princess
Yes, we’re keeping the enormous dress.
Some corners of bridal fashion will always try to convince us that understated is automatically more sophisticated.
We respectfully disagree.
There’s something magnificent about a full skirt at an autumn wedding, particularly when it’s paired with a cleaner, more contemporary bodice.
The 2026 version of princess bridal isn’t necessarily covered in crystals from neckline to hem. Think architectural silhouettes, beautiful fabric and volume used deliberately.
You should be able to walk through a doorway.
Whether everybody else can fit through it at the same time is another matter.
Satin Has Entered the Ceremony
There’s a reason satin keeps coming back.
It catches autumn light beautifully, photographs wonderfully and can make an incredibly simple silhouette feel luxurious.
We’re particularly drawn to heavier satin for the cooler months.
A clean satin gown also gives you an enormous amount of freedom elsewhere.

Lace — But Make It Interesting
Lace isn’t going anywhere.
But we’re interested in lace that becomes part of the personality of the dress rather than simply being added because wedding dresses have lace.
Look for unusual placements, oversized florals, contrasting textures and lace layered over unexpected silhouettes.
And don’t overlook vintage-inspired lace.
Autumn is practically begging for it.
The Bridal Bow
Tiny bow?
Lovely.
Large bow?
Better.
Completely unreasonable bow requiring its own postcode?
Now we’re talking.
Bows remain one of our favourite ways of adding femininity without covering a gown in embellishment.
A dramatic back bow on an otherwise minimal dress can completely transform it.
Detachable versions are particularly clever if you want ceremony drama followed by a cleaner evening look.
The Tea-Length Wildcard
Not every bride wants a train.
And not every autumn wedding involves a cathedral.
For registry offices, city celebrations, smaller weddings and brides who simply want something different, we’re keeping the tea-length dress firmly in the edit.
Pair it with spectacular shoes because, for once, people can actually see them.
That’s their moment.
Don’t waste it.
The Dress That Isn’t White
Here we go.
Blush.
Champagne.
Soft blue.
Floral embroidery.

Your wedding certificate does not spontaneously combust because your dress isn’t white.
Colour can be introduced subtly through embroidery, lining, accessories or a veil—or you can abandon subtlety entirely.

Your dress doesn’t need to demonstrate that you understood this year’s bridal trends.
It needs to make you look in the mirror and think:
